Rusty Nixon – Managing Director/Writer/Director/Producer
Rusty Nixon is an award winning director, writer, and co-founder of Motorcycle Boy Productions. He began his career over twenty years ago with the documentary SCRIBES. Sold through Writers’ Digest and even becoming part of their book-of-the-month club the film has become a staple for aspiring writers and still has late night screenings at various conferences. Rusty then apprenticed under legendary Canadian director Larry Kent. This honor included shadowing Mr. Kent as he directed his feature film The HAMSTER CAGE and touring with him as he gave lectures and acting workshops. Rusty wrote, directed, and edited his first feature Down THE LINE which was acquired by IndustryWorks Studios and led to Rusty directing Gary Busey in his second feature film CANDiLAND distributed by Viva Pictures in February 2017. Mr. Busey has since been quoted in interviews stating that CANDiLAND is one of the best films he’s been in and he considers it one of his greatest performances. With a growing reputation of getting top performances from his actors, Rusty’s third feature RESIDUE includes a star cast: Costas Mandylor, Matt Frewer, William B. Davis, Taylor Hickson, Dan Payne, James Clayton, and Elysia Rotaru. Residue will be distributed through XLrator Media in June of 2017.
